Led by Deliverr founder Harish Abbott, Augment’s first product is an AI assistant named Augie. It’s built to help freight operators — including shippers, brokers, and carriers — handle everyday logistics tasks like calling, emailing, logging into systems, escalating issues, and managing shipments. The goal is to reduce manual work and help teams focus on higher-value parts of the job.

“We are applying AI to logistics, one of the largest and most complex industries, to drive transformative change,” said Abbott. “Augie is like an assistant to every operator in the freight industry. Augie performs the tedious and mundane tasks so the operators can focus on the important and urgent.”

8VC led the funding round, which aims to grow Augment’s team and expand its platform. The company has offices in San Francisco, Chicago, and Toronto.

“We partnered with Augment to build a multi-functional AI assistant, giving our team another tool to spend more time on value-added parts of their jobs and delivering a better experience to our partners,” said Matt Pyatt, CEO of Arrive Logistics. “The Augment team has exceeded our expectations as a partner, shadowing our reps in-house, learning the business, and building solutions that make sense for our operation.”

Abbott previously founded Deliverr, which Shopify acquired for $2.1 billion in 2022. His co-founders at Augment include CTO Artur Rivilis, former VP of Engineering at Shopify, and CCO Justin Hall, a logistics industry veteran who led operations at YRC Worldwide and Primo Logistics.

The company is starting with truckload (FTL), less-than-truckload (LTL), drayage, and expedited freight but plans to expand into warehousing, freight forwarding, and broader supply chain work over time.
