CEVA Logistics has signed an agreement to acquire 100 percent of Italy-based Fagioli Group, a well-known name in global project logistics, as the company looks to expand its reach in heavy lift and complex cargo moves.

The deal, announced Monday, is subject to regulatory approvals. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Fagioli Group specializes in engineered transportation, heavy hauling, and lifting for large infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects. The company reported revenue of $251 million USD in 2024 and is known for handling some of the world’s most complex project cargo moves.

Under the agreement, CEVA would bring roughly 450 Fagioli employees into its organization, including more than 40 engineers working across technical and management roles. CEVA said the addition would allow it to cover project logistics work from early planning and design through transportation, delivery, and final installation.

CEVA already operates a global project logistics business supported by more than 1,000 specialists. Fagioli’s engineering know-how and owned equipment fleet would add execution muscle to that network, especially for heavy and oversized cargo.

Fagioli’s equipment includes crawler and gantry cranes, strand jacks, self-propelled modular transporters, trailers, barges, and other specialized tools used in major project moves. The company also has long-standing relationships with engineering, procurement, and construction firms and industrial customers across Europe, Asia Pacific, and North America.

“Everyone who works in project logistics knows Fagioli,” said Mathieu Friedberg, CEO of CEVA Logistics. “Their worldwide reputation and strong company values were a major factor in our decision-making. Adding their technical expertise to the CEVA team, as part of the broader CMA CGM Group, would be a significant boost for our project logistics business in offering state-of-the-art, end-to-end solutions for our customers.”

The move follows a series of strategic steps by CEVA since it became part of the CMA CGM Group in 2019. That includes the acquisition of Bolloré Logistics and closer freight management ties with CMA CGM.

“The arrival of CEVA Logistics would provide Fagioli with superior access-to-market capabilities, a capillary presence and local know-how in each key market around the world, as well as the necessary financial support to accelerate Fagioli’s long-term growth,” added Fernando Bertoni, CEO of Fagioli Group.
