Qualcomm Technologies and DeepRoute.ai are working together to build better driver assistance tech using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Ride platforms. The goal is to make vehicles that understand the road more like people do by using AI models that learn how humans drive, react, and deal with tricky situations like construction zones or narrow roads.
The collaboration will support both LiDAR and vision-only systems and power features like urban and highway navigation and automated parking. The systems are designed to work in a wide range of vehicles, including traditional fuel-powered cars and new-energy vehicles.
To improve performance in tough driving scenarios, the companies are optimizing models like Birds Eye View (BEV) and transformers to run more smoothly on the Snapdragon Ride chip. These models help the car make real-time decisions, such as how to safely pass a parked car or reroute around roadwork.
DeepRoute.ai has also worked on improving visibility in tough lighting conditions, like strong sunlight or low-light streets, helping vision-only systems perform as well as those that use LiDAR. Snapdragon Ride’s open platform supports a variety of features like pedestrian detection, lane keeping, and obstacle avoidance, and can process data from 16 cameras and multiple sensors at once.
